Alfred Briffa, 79, dropped into The Express last week to ketchup and show us his 986 gram tomato.
The Morwell resident of 10 years said his secret to growing big tomatoes was horse manure.
“I get a fresh big bag of horse manure and mix it with water, it works a treat,” Mr Briffa said.
Originally from Malta, Mr Briffa said his love of gardening came from his late mother.
“Everything she touched, grew,” he said.
