Pressplay records a movie moment

It was an upset result at the Traralgon Pacing Cup last Monday at Warragul as a 20/1 longshot trotted to glory.

Six-year-old mare Pressplay, a 20/1 chance with punters, grabbed a last stride win in the $7325 event.

Pressplay is trained at Doreen, north of Melbourne, by Rebecca Cartwright and was driven on Monday by Craig Turnbull.

Pressplay has now recorded 12 wins from 55 starts.

The Traralgon Pacing Cup is staged at Warragul each year to remember the two decades of racing at Glenview Park Traralgon, from 1975 to 1995.

Locally owned and trained filly Courageous Call scored an easy win in the fourth race.

Coming off a sixth placing in the recent Victoria Oaks, Courageous Call appreciated a significant drop in class, and led all the way for Drouin West trainer Gary Quinlan and driver Anthony Butt.

Cranbourne pacer Narreeva won the feature race of the day, the Ken Miller Memorial event.

Despite cold weather conditions there was good attendance on course for Monday’s eight race program.
